All programs and courses are conducted within the standards of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). All shown prices are for courses on our liveaboard (MV Calypso) in Koh Tao. The goal of the Discover programs is for you to check out diving and gain experience. You should be fit for diving prior to enrolling in a program. Preparation is not necessary. Please visit our office one day in advance to try on the provided equipment, for comfort, pleasure and confidence.

Breathing under water gives you more answers and excitement than words can describe! With the Discover Scuba program you can get your first experience in scuba diving. The instructor will explain the important rules for scuba diving and techniques for equalization underwater. Then he will adjust your equipment and help you into the water. Side by side with your instructor you will reach maximum 6 meters for an enjoyable and exciting a dive for around 20 minutes!

DISCOVER SCUBA:

In this program you will learn the important rules of diving. After you handled the required paper work, your instructor will explain the necessary knowledge to you. Next there are a few exercises in shallow water and then your first dive down to max. 12 meters. After the program you receive a recognition of participation and you are allowed to dive with a divemaster or instructor within a one year period to gain experience. Every PADI Instructor can credit the Discover Scuba Diving program as the first part of your Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification. DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING:

The following courses are performance- based, which means all requirements must be met by students to receive certification for the course. The participant must be healthy and fit for diving and be able to swim 200 meters or snorkel 300 meters and float for ten minutes.

For your own preparation you have to study the Manual and answer the Knowledge Reviews of the course you choose. For almost every course there is a recommended video to watch, which you can do in our dive centre.

SCUBA DIVER:

For everybody who wants to explore the underwater world only side by side with a Divemaster or Instructor, choosing the Scuba Diver course is the right decision. The course duration is only two days but the excitement of diving lasts a lifetime! This certification does not expire! As a certified Scuba Diver you can join dives down to max. 12 meters under the direct supervision of a divemaster or instructor. If you want to get the Open Water Diver certificate later on, each PADI dive centre will be glad to teach you the rest of the exercises.

Here you will get a complete introduction into scuba diving. The course sequence is theory, confined water session and open water training dives. At the end of the course you will be able to plan and conduct your dives independently to a max. depth of 18 meters. After this course you are allowed to join dive excursions and continuing education. The course requirements are easily performed by 99% of our students!

As Scuba Diver

While staying on our liveaboard the MV Calypso you can do training dives for continuing education. Prior reading of the relevant chapter in the Adventures in Diving manual and answering the Knowledge Reviews is required. As a participant of our Koh Tao Tour you will not pay extra for the training dives, we just charge 1200.- Baht for the PADI certificate. The number of training dives are limited to:

2 day trip = 3 training dives
3 day trip = 5 training dives

The greatest pleasure while diving comes from participation in the PADI Specialty Courses. As a certified Open Water Diver you can join different Specialties. The following areas you can choose with Calypso Diving: Navigation (3 dives), Naturalist (2 dives), Drift Diving ( 2 dives), Peak Performance Buoyancy (2 dives), Night Diving (3 dives), Multilevel (2 dives) and Boat Diving (2 dives).

SPECIAL COURSES FOR OPEN WATER DIVER:

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER:

The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is divided into five special training dives, such as Navigation, Deep Diving and three dives of your choice. The AOWD course is the ideal supplement to the knowledge of the Open Water Diver and a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver Course.

SPECIAL COURSES FOR ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER:

As a certified AOWD you have two more options to join a Specialty Course: Search and Recovery (4 training dives) and Deep Diving (4 training dives).

EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE:

The Emergency First Response course is designed to provide quality CPR. It prepares you to take care of anyone sick or injured and also teaches you to analyse different signs of illness.

RESCUE DIVER:

Prevention and dealing with possible dive accidents are the most important aspects of the Rescue Diver Course. Here we are dealing with self rescue ability and knowing how to assist others in need. At the end of this course you will be an even safer diver and a better buddy. This course is the platform to start a professional career in diving. The course is both an intensive, enriching experience and another step further in your diving career.
