Snorkeling Koh Samui

The Tour

Relaxed snorkeling in some of the chilled bays of Koh Tao – that’s the main characteristics of this tour. Cozy and warm tropical water in bays like Japanese Garden, Mango Bay, Hin Wong Bay, Lighthouse Bay or Ao Leuk is ideal for snorkelers of all ages and all levels of fitness. On top of this a certified instructor is taking care of the snorkeling group throughout the day – in the water as well as on the boat.

Angel fish, parrot fish, trigger fish, rabbit fish and once in a while also barracudas and turtles can be seen amongst so many other species at Koh Tao’s reefs. Also the diversity of corals is abundant: stone corals, table-, brain- and mushroom corals are surrounding the rocky underwater landscape at “turtle island”.

As on all other Calypso tours we will pick you up with our air-conditioned minibus at the hotel reception and bring you to the pier where our catamaran is waiting for you. Then it will take one and a half hours to get to Koh Tao. You will be with us on a very unique boat on which you will appreciate highest standards in terms of safety and comfort. Despite its fairly big size the journey with the catamaran is still as quick as with a common, narrow speed boat.

After having arrived on board you will get a nice breakfast and during the boat ride your instructor will give you well-fitting snorkeling gear. If you like you can wear a life jacket as well.

In the water

Having arrived at Koh Tao your instructor will give you a briefing about equipment and about snorkeling itself, especially in terms of safety issues. The instructor will accompany you and take care of you in the water as well as on the boat. The first snorkeling tour will take about one hour.

Back on the catamaran we will serve delicious lunch – a choice of several Thai-style dishes. Beverages like water, coke, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available throughout the day. At times we serve fresh fruit and muffins as well. For the second snorkeling round we will come to another snorkeling spot and have one more hour to explore colorful reef life. After having had fun in the water we will be heading back to Koh Samui – a relaxing boat ride, maybe you’ll even have the chance for a nap after all our in-water activities. Around 4 pm you’ll be back at your hotel again.
